UniversalParksBlog News for August 10th, 2025
We’ve got all sorts of Halloween Horror Nights news this week!
I’m genuinely excited for UniversalParksBlog News, so let’s just get right into it!
I Miss Bray Wyatt

AEW Wrestlers Jamie Hayter and Britt Baker
For the first time in a few years, pro wrestling comes up at Universal Studios.
Last time, All Elite Wrestling was filming matches at Universal Orlando Resort during the pandemic.

Now, World Wrestling Entertainment has worked a deal with Universal for a Halloween Horror Nights House.
In case you didn’t know, this won’t be the first one. The Undertaker had a House 25 years ago.
At the time, The Undertaker had ditched his spooky gimmick in favor of a roughneck biker.

So, the fit felt a few years too late, and the same thing may apply to the House I’m about to discuss.
Several years ago, the late Bray Wyatt struck gold with a character, a creepy backwoods serial killer.

Wyatt created a faction called the Wyatt Family and became a world champion.
However, he, like Brodie Lee, another member of the Wyatt Family, developed a strange illness and died.

The wrestling world mourned both losses dearly. Since then, Bray Wyatt’s brother has taken over the faction, now called the Wyatt Sicks.
This group hasn’t quite found its footing yet and has barely made a ripple in wrestling.

HHN
Still, I think of this House, WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks, as a tribute to the late Bray Wyatt.
So, I’m delighted that Universal Studios is hosting this House, and that’s not the only reveal.

We’re also getting Five Nights at Freddy’s, which has this description:
“You wouldn’t last one night at Freddy’s, let alone five.
You’re about to be hunted by deadly animatronics Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy as you flee through creepy, abandoned hallways.”
So, that’s two blockbuster Houses coming to this year’s HHN parties. But wait, there’s more!

Not to be outdone, Universal Studios Hollywood has announced a couple of HHN experiences, too.
Most importantly, we’ve got an exciting return this year, and it’s the Terror Tram!
Yup, Terror Tram: Enter the Blumhouse is back for 2025, and the teaser gives away some surprises.

According to the link, guests will “take on the most feared villains like The Grabber, M3GAN and more.”
Also, as a Happy Death Day superfan, I spotted the masked murderer from that franchise as well.

Universal
Overall, I was really excited about this compilation of characters until I remembered last year’s event.
We may be getting a full repeat of last year’s Terror Tram. I hope not, but that’s the same cast of characters.
Universal Studios Hollywood also revealed a Poltergeist House, which we haven’t seen since 2018:
In other HHN Hollywood news, annual and season passholders can do something phenomenal.
You can sign up here to take a walking tour of the Fallout House…with the lights on!

Universal starts taking RSVPs on August 20th, and they’ll go fast. So, be sure to sign up if you’re eligible.
Finally, USH has also confirmed the return of The Purge: Dangerous Waters, a fiery stunt show

At Universal Studios Florida, we also learned details about this year’s Stay & Scream.
Universal has eliminated those demoralizing holding areas from past years.
In their stead, guests will receive a wristband at one of three designated locations.
When you have the wristband, the Team Members know that you’re authorized to stand in line at the Houses.

You’ll find the check-in stations with the wristbands at Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast, Minion Café, and Lombard’s Seafood Grill.
Universal Miscellany

Universal
The other big news is Universal Horror Unleashed, which opens in Las Vegas next week.
I’d hoped to have additional details with the big debut so close. Alas, all I’ve got is this video:
That’s Theme Park Obsession at what I presume was some sort of sneak preview media event.

Universal
The main thing that jumps out at me is how much more professional this place looks.
Obviously, Universal’s theme parks do a great job every year, but limitations exist.

Universal
Since Universal is repurposing existing spaces annually, everything must be impermanent by nature.
Universal Horror Unleashed comes across as a more immersive version of the HHN concept.
In other theme park news, we got the latest Florida theme park injury report, which is notable this time.
This list contains the first set of Universal Epic Universe incidents, and there were three of them.

Universal
A guest suffered chest pain on Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, while two incidents occurred at Stardust Racers.
One guest passed out, while another experienced a “visual disturbance” and numbness.

Attractions Magazine
The report lists both issues as pre-existing. So, presuming everything is as presented, Epic has started quite safely.
That’s important because NBC will host an Epic Universe special starring Joe Manganiello at 9 p.m. on August 20th.

Universal
You’ll want to set your calendars for that one! Comcast clearly wants to show off Epic to a wider audience.
More Miscellany
In theme park news, Dolores the Aquilops from the new Jurassic Park film is appearing at the park.
I haven’t actually caught the movie yet, so I don’t know quite what that is.

Attractions Magazine
Similarly, I never saw Bad Guys (I’m way behind on my movie-watching these days), but Mr. Wolf from the sequel is also appearing.
So, fans of character interactions, especially limited-time ones, will want to find these at the park.

Finally, I’d be remiss if I failed to mention the recent unpleasantness with the weather.
Central Florida has been hot enough to fry an egg lately, and I’ve got the sunburn to prove it.

Photo: Universal
Okay, that technically happened in The Bahamas, but the Florida sun sure didn’t help any.
Orlando has offered heat advisories for nearly half the days since my last news update.

Some of the temperatures felt like 110 degrees, which is definitely “I think I’ll just stay inside” weather.
Since most of Epic’s attractions and experiences are outdoors, it’ll be interesting to learn whether the heat negatively impacted the park.

I doubt it since people have planned these trips months in advance, but it’s an unexpected wrinkle to the park’s first summer.
