Several riders have filed lawsuits against Universal Orlando Resort, alleging severe and permanent injuries after riding the Stardust Racers roller coaster at Epic Universe.
The complaints state that riders sustained repeated head impacts against the seat in front of them during the attraction.

The lawsuits were filed in Orange County and named both Universal and Mack Rides, the German company that designed the coaster.
Plaintiffs seek damages exceeding $50,000 to cover ongoing medical care for alleged injuries, including spinal cord damage, paralysis, and bleeding of the brain.

The filings follow a separate case involving Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, who rode Stardust Racers on September 17 and died due to injuries.
Witnesses reported repeated head impacts during the ride, according to an Orange County Sheriff’s report, and ruled the death accidental, citing a preexisting spinal condition.
Zavala’s family reached a confidential settlement with the park earlier this week.

Attorney Nick Spetsas represents the injured riders and argues the attraction poses inherent risks and lacks adequate warnings.
The lawsuits state that the ride lacks head restraints and was not properly designed or tested to prevent injury during regular operation.
Universal
Several riders report emergency room visits immediately after riding.
Universal declined to comment due to pending litigation, and Mack Rides has not issued a public response.
