10 Great Universal Orlando Resort Photo Ops
Your Instagram account needs some love and some clout. One of the quickest ways to grab some likes is posting some Universal Orlando Resort theme park pictures. You want the best ones to impress your friends and maybe even a few strangers.
However, you don’t want to overwhelm people with a bunch of Harry Potter pics. Instead, you want unique images that most park guests skip.
This strategy will set your pictures apart from the rest. So, here are some great Universal Orlando Resort photo spots to liven up your social media!
Universal Studios Florida Entrance
Okay, three of the photo ops I’ll discuss today are iconic enough that you know the deal. As you approach Universal Studios Florida for the first time, you should take your phone out and prepare for a picture. Just do it in a way that you don’t block others!
You want to take a wide shot of the Universal Studios Florida archway before you go inside! This picture will double as a time capsule since the banners hanging from the side walls change frequently.
During the fall, you might even snag a picture of the Halloween Horror Nights logo for that year!
Universal Studios Globe
Here comes the other photo-op that will happen organically. You’ll walk past the spinning Universal Studios globe as you walk around the circular parts of the park.
If you’ve ever watched a movie in your life, you know this visual all too well. At the park, you can become a part of the picture! The one thing to keep in mind is that you may need several attempts to get the perfect shot.
Since the globe is spinning slowly, you’ll want to wait until the Universal part is showing. If you fail to time it well, you won’t center the logo.
A blurry photo is also a possibility. So, take your time, and don’t stop trying until you get the perfect take!
Bruce the Shark
I’m almost sad about the recent treatment of Jaws at Universal Studios. For many of us, the Backlot Tour embodies the best memories of the park.
Alas, you won’t find one of these in Florida. Even if you did, Jaws doesn’t enjoy the same cachet with modern audiences as it once did. As such, the closest thing you’ll get to a Jaws presence at the park is Bruce the Shark.
Someone has captured this shark and hung it on display to show that humanity doesn’t bend the knee to stupid fish!
So, you can do your best Quint impersonation and stick yourself in the mouth of the shark. There’s like a 92 percent chance it won’t spring to life and eat you.
Those are pretty good odds, but even if it does eat you, your final moments will go viral on social media!
The Daily Bugle
The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man has anchored Marvel Super Hero Island since the beginning. While the ride itself is arguably the best in Universal Studio’s history, shutterbugs will relish the photo ops in line as well.
The line queue mimics the office at The Daily Bugle. So, you’ll receive your pick of the best spots to take a photo here. I legitimately took 25 pics the last time I visited the park. My suggested spot is by the trash can.
If you angle the shot right, you can make it seem like you’re getting coffee in the breakroom. The presence of the trashcan makes it tricky, though.
Lard Lad Donuts Mascot
Okay, Springfield often gets lost in the shadows of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. That’s a shame because The Simpsons is a $15 billion brand. Yes, Harry Potter is larger at $25 billion, but there aren’t many $15 billion franchises.
So, Springfield deserves more recognition at Universal Studios, where park planners have built a terrific real-world representation.
I’ll list three photo ops here, but the reality is that you’ll find dozens. Among them, my favorite is the Lad Lard Donuts mascot.
Don’t make this thing angry, though. It’s been known to come to life.
Greetings from Springfield Sign
The sign says everything! When you see Radioactive Man grimacing to the side of the billboard, you’ll know that you’ve nearly reached your destination!
You’ve entered the world of Evergreen Terrace, the place where Homer and Marge Simpson try to raise a family in a world gone mad.
Judging by the sign, you can guess where both of them have worked, too. Yes, the only thing mentioned on this billboard is the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant.
Springfield residents have low self-esteem. Still, you can snag a terrific picture here, two if you want to make it seem like you’re fighting Radioactive Man.
Universal Studios Or Bust RV
Here’s the other sublime photo op in Springfield. In one of the earliest episodes, The Call of The Simpsons, Homer purchases an RV. His investment proves ill-considered, as it’s the worst RV on the lot but also the only one he can afford. Suffice to say it’s a fixer-upper.
The Simpsons destroy the RV in a single vacation, but they must have performed some later upkeep. Somehow, here it is at Universal Studios! In fact, the sign on the side of it even says Universal Studios or bust! Plus, when you’re lucky, The Simpsons may appear in the RV!
The Spinning Monsters at Classic Monsters Café
Here’s another rotating icon at Universal Studios. On the top of Classic Monsters Café, three iconic horror villains spend the day spinning and scaring.
We’re talking about characters from the golden age of cinema. Frankenstein, the Wolfman, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon still love to terrorize.
Before you eat a meal at the restaurant – and you TOTALLY should because it’s awesome inside! – you can grab a picture of your favorite monster…or all three!
As with the Universal Studios globe, the statues rotate at a fixed pace. So, this image comes with a modest challenge to capture the perfect moment.
Velociraptors
The other line queue where you should keep your phone handy is the VelociCoaster. You’ll discover multiple opportunities to capture images of velociraptors during your wait.
Some psychopath has taken one of these dinosaurs hostage and is holding it for observation. It’s like they’ve never watched a movie. That dinosaur is gonna get out, and then it’s gonna eat well on a menu full of human flesh.
Before that happens, take your picture! Then, find a safe spot where you can hide or outrun someone slower and tastier.
PS: The digital projections in the pre-ride queue afford a second opportunity. You may be able to photograph one of the images on the train tracks. They’re hysterical!
