Guide to Universal’s Dining Plans
When traveling to Universal Orlando Resort, I always recommend one of their Dining Plans. With over 100 dining locations in City Walk, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay, you will find plenty of options to please everyone in your party.
The Universal Dining Plans are only available when pre-purchasing a Vacation Package or at the Universal Orlando Ticket Desk for Universal Orlando Resort Hotel guests. You’ll enjoy delicious meals and exclusive savings throughout Universal Orlando Resort, including at Universal’s Volcano Bay water theme park.
Here are some commonly asked questions about Universal’s dining plans.
How do the Universal Dining Plans work?
Pre-purchase a Universal Dining, Universal Dining – Quick Service or Universal Dining – Quick Service + Coca-Cola freestyle® Souvenir Cup dining plan. Then just look for the Universal Dining Plan icon on a menu to see what items are eligible on the plan. Reservations are recommended for all full-service restaurants.
How do I get a Universal Dining Plan?
When you include a Universal Dining Plan with your vacation package purchase, you’ll receive a ticket to be exchanged for your Universal Dining Plan card (one card per guest) at any of the following locations:
- Dining Reservation Cart in Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, Universal’s Volcano Bay or Universal CityWalk
- Guest Services in one of our theme parks
- Universal Ticket Center Desk at Universal Orlando Resort Hotels
What happens after I purchase a Universal Dining Plan — Quick-Service online?
Visit a kiosk at the front gates of one of our theme parks to print your dining plan ticket, which you can then exchange for your Universal Dining Plan — Quick-Service card (one card per guest) at any of the following locations:
- Dining Reservation Cart in one of our theme parks
- Participating quick-service locations
- Universal Ticket Center Desk at Universal Orlando Resort Hotels
How do I purchase the Universal Dining Plan — Quick-Service in the parks?
Each of the above venues also sell the Universal Dining Plan — Quick-Service card directly. Just stop by to get yours.
Are dining plans available for purchase outside of a vacation package?
Only the Universal Dining Plan — Quick-Service and the Universal Dining Plan — Quick-Service + Coca-Cola freestyle® Souvenir Cup can be purchased online or in the parks without a vacation package.
Can I purchase a dining plan the day of my visit?
The Universal Dining Plan — Quick-Service and the Universal Dining Plan — Quick-Service + Coca-Cola freestyle® Souvenir Cup can be purchased the day of your visit at any of the following locations:
- Dining Reservation Cart in one of our theme parks
- Theme park front gates
- Online
- Participating quick-service locations
- Universal Ticket Center Desk at Universal Orlando Resort Hotels
Are gratuities included in dining plans?
Gratuities are not included with any dining plan. A separate form of payment is required.
Can I add additional days to my dining plan?
It’s easy to add extra days to the Universal Dining Plan — Quick-Service. Just visit any Guest Services location.
How can I tell how many meals, snacks, and beverages are left on my Universal Dining Plan?
Bring your Universal Dining Plan card to Guest Services to check your balance.
How will I know what food items are included in the dining plan?
Look for the Universal Dining Plan icon on menus throughout Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, Universal’s Volcano Bay and Universal CityWalk to determine which items are eligible for redemption. Or, simply ask your server for menu options, including the chef-selected dining plan dessert, for that location.
What is considered a snack in the dining plans?
Snack options are found at food carts or quick-service locations and include items such as popcorn, ice cream, frozen beverages, Butterbeer™, churros, Cinnabon®, and more.
Can I order something not on the menu?
Restaurants cannot allow substitutions for set menu items.
Where can I refill my Coca-Cola freestyle® Souvenir Cup?
There are over 20 Coca-Cola freestyle® locations across Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal’s Volcano Bay. These locations are indicated by the Coca-Cola freestyle® icon on the park map. You can also find the locations through The Official Universal Orlando Resort App.
Can I upgrade my dining plan?
It’s not currently possible to upgrade between plans. However, you can upgrade your Dining Plan — Quick-Service beverage to a Coca-Cola freestyle® Souvenir Cup at any participating Dining Plan location or buy the combined product in advance.
Is the Universal Dining Plan valid at Halloween Horror Nights?
Yes, the Universal Dining Plan can be used at the participating quick-service venues and/or participating CityWalk venues during Halloween Horror Nights.
How do I make dining reservations?
Reservations are recommended for all full-service restaurants. Visit the Reservations page on UniversalOrlando.com or call (407) 224-FOOD (7554) to book up to 180 days in advance of your visit.
If I have food allergies, can I still use a dining plan?
For guests with food allergies, please inquire ahead of your visit about available options by calling Guest Services at (407) 224-4233, option four (4). or speak to the restaurant manager or chef upon arrival. For more information, visit our Food Allergies page.
