Indoor Dining Can Open at Universal Studios Hollywood
The state of California has now officially given 2 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to its residents. This is good news for theme parks! Los Angeles and Orange counties can now move from the most restrictive purple tier to the red tier in the state’s coded reopening system, which includes Universal Studios Hollywood.
The move to the red tier also allows for each county to permit restaurants to open to indoor dining at 25% capacity or a max of 100 people, whichever is fewer. Other safety precautions such as distancing, ventilation, and masks will also be in effect. Meanwhile, outdoor dining can accommodate up to six people per table from three different households.
In addition to restaurants and theme parks, retail stores and personal care services can increase capacities to 50% with full-time masking required. This includes Universal’s retail establishments.
Some indoor rides that meet the minimum requirements could reopen but Universal has yet to announce anything official regarding these plans.
