FULL TOUR Inside Universal’s New Jurassic Park Tribute Store
Universal Studios Florida has a tribute store that changes themes! We’ve seen a store with different festive sections like Yuletide in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and How the Grinch Stole Christmas around the holidays…
…along with different Halloween Horror Nights sections during spooky season! There are also themes like Mardi Gras and classic movies.
And now, the newest version of the tribute store is here, and it’s all about Jurassic Park!
Jurassic Park Tribute Store
The tribute store is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Jurassic Park! The store is only open for previews to Annual Passholders and Team Members today, and it will officially open to everyone tomorrow, May 26th!
We have a separate post coming on all of the merchandise inside, but right now, let’s take a look at all of the awesome decor inside of the store!
Outside
The outside of the store has a big Jurassic Park sign with a 30th Anniversary banner. The banners on the side clarify that the store is focusing on the making of the movie with “a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most amazing motion pictures of all time.”
We’ve got some nice plants on top…
…as well some scaffolding with movie equipment.
But the major thing over here is the GIANT triceratops lying on the ground!
Just look at this thing, it looks like it came straight from the movie.
It’s absolutely incredible!
First Room
The tribute store has several different sections, so we’re going to break them down by room. The first (or main) room is themed like you’re on the set of the making of Jurassic Park!
The details in here are absolutely incredible.
Let’s take a closer look!
You have work benches like this one with a clipboard of info titled “pushing around clay.”
As you can see, it looks like a clay model of a dinosaur is being worked on right here.
It feels like we’re right in the workshop!
Oh, and we found a TV playing Jurassic Park on it!
There’s also a little model of a famous scene from the movie.
Seriously, there are so many dinos in here!
Here’s another look:
The bulletin boards around this part of the store show more about how the movie’s set was designed.
You can check out even more details about the T-Rex!
On the back wall over here, there is a TV playing a video about how they made the sculptures of the dinosaurs. There’s also a QR code to scan, which brings you to this website for the Stan Winston School of Character Arts.
If you look “upstairs” you’ll see some more concept art for the film.
There’s also a door to the Locations Department.
On another bulletin board we saw the blueprints for the main building in Jurassic Park.
And, here are some designs for the dinos!
The art department is located up here as well…
…and so is the casting department!
And, you can’t forget about the costuming department. It looks like you can see Jeff Goldblum’s famous leather jacket!
You can’t miss the giant dinosaur head cut out of plywood!
Floating over the middle of the store, you can see a wooden model of a dinosaur.
It’s 3D!
Artist supplies can be found underneath the work benches, including some paint like the color for “Alligator Alley.”
On top of the bench, you’ll see a giant T-Rex head being worked on.
Paint brushes and an airbrush set surround the head.
Check out those details:
It’s pretty massive!
Don’t forget to lookout for some Easter eggs of other famous movies!
There’s also a filing cabinet with some fun details.
Over here, you can see the desk of some of the people working on the film.
Look at their bulletin board!
Shoutout to the vintage telephone! Oh, and yes, that’s a more script.
It looks like this person brought their lunch in a cooler as well.
And look at those vintage books — one includes “Computing Architecture for the 90s.”
You might also notice a hockey stick…
…and jersey!
The sticky notes on this board have some fun messages!
If you look down on one of the desks, you’ll spot actual pictures from the Jurassic Park set…
…as well as some old medicine bottles and a boom box!
Here’s an overall look a the whole area!
Second Room
Moving on to room number 2, you’ll find that wild scene from the movie involving a T-Rex and the bathroom!
Yeah, this is just straight-up awesome!
It’s pretty dark in this room, but you can definitely still see what’s happening.
You’ll find some full walls of merchandise!
And, we’ve got more details from behind the scenes!
Just be careful, because the Dilophosaurus is lurking!
The arrow on this sign also changes directions!
See, it moves!
This room is also home to the kitchen scene from the movies.
There may or may not be a raptor that’s broken in.
Oh wait, there definitely is!
This guy is wrecking the kitchen!
Third Room
In room 3, you can find some more merchandise.
Also be sure to check out the high voltage switchboard!
Maybe don’t press any buttons though.
There seems to be a breech in the wiring…
Maybe that’s why it’s so dark in here — the raptor messed up the cables!
It’s a very cool sight to see!
You will also find a sound stage sign for the set in here.
And, there’s more merchandise!
Check out all those little dinos.
Fourth Room
The 4th room has the classic Jurassic Park entryway in it!
Check out those details.
There’s also a bunch of merchandise in here.
The merchandise is surrounded by some lush vegetation.
Fifth Room
Finally, in the 5th room, you will find a ton of memorabilia from the movie!
Just look at this little Jurassic Park toy set.
It’s got the gates and the car!
You can also see the dinosaur inside the fence.
In the display cases, you’ll see all of the memorabilia from promoting the movie back in the 90s.
There is SO much cool stuff in these!
You can see some of the magazines and newspapers from the time.
There’s also original merchandise like ties, a lunchbox, drinking cups, a CD and cassette tapes.
Check out those original toys, a board game, and the VHS tape!
You can also see the promotional materials like this map.
Here’s another look at the items. Check out those sneakers at the bottom!
There are a bunch of the collectible action figures and dinosaurs on top of the shelves above the merchandise.
We love these details!
And, see the Jurassic Park shirts!
In this room you’ll also find some special eats and treats! We’ll be checking those out later.
Overall, this place is awesome, especially if you’re a fan of Jurassic Park!
