FULL LIST of Scare Zones, Houses, and Entertainment at Halloween Horror Nights
Horror is about to return to Universal Studios Hollywood — are you ready? The highly-anticipated Halloween Horror Nights event will make its big return on September 7th, and occur on select nights through October 31st.
There’s a ton to look forward to at this year’s event. So, to get you prepared for all the horror that awaits you, let’s check out the scare zones, haunted houses, and entertainment available at the 2023 Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights!
Scare Zones
Immediately upon entering the event, guests can expect to see “a horde of blood-soaked, chainsaw-wielding ghostz” in the Ghostz scare zone. It promises to scare your entire group. (We’ll see about that.)
The Toyz scare zone is themed after a maniacal toymaker who “is using dark magic to bring evil toys to life, including a porcelain doll, teddy bear, nutcracker, and ballerina.” These toys aren’t friendly, and of course, they’re coming for you.
The El Terror De Las Momias scare zone will bring you into a world where an unearthed ancient army of mummies roam. Naturally, event guests are the targets of this army. Oh — and we can’t forget to mention Muerte and the Goddess of Death, who aren’t planning on letting you escape this scare zone.
Live Entertainment
Guests can also check out the live entertainment during the event, like Blumhouse: Behind the Screams.
Or, they can see The Purge: Dangerous Waters, which describes itself as a “fiery EDM show”. We’re definitely intrigued.
Haunted Houses
This year, there’s the highly-anticipated haunted house themed after the video game, The Last of Us. Here, guests will encounter the haunting world introduced to audiences in the video game, and attempt to survive encounters with Clickers, Hunters, and more.
Another house creating some buzz is the Stranger Things 4 house. Gather up some courage and strength (and you may want to gear up with Kate Bush’s “Running Up The Hill”), as you’ll need to resist Vecna’s curse. This is your chance to stop him — will you succeed?
The haunted house themed after The Exorcist will follow the story of two missing girls who were found with no memory of what happened to them. Regardless of that, the evil they encountered returned with them.
The Chucky haunted house has been hijacked by Chucky himself. It’s the ultimate gorefest — do you have the stomach for it?
Universal Monsters: Unmasked has guests enter catacombs where they’ll be met with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the Phantom of the Opera, the Hunchback of Notre Dame, and the Invisible Man. This is a new horde of monsters, so there are also new scares to run into!
The Evil Dead Rise haunted house brings the ancient curse to an L.A. apartment building. The Book of the Dead has unleashed all kinds of horrors for you to encounter here.
The Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America haunted house has La Muerte as your guide, and you must try to survive your encounter with “the blood-sucking Tlahuelpuchi, owl-faced witch La Lechuza and bone-ripping El Silbón.”
And the final house is Holidayz in Hell, which brings you the scariest holidays ever.
Terror Tram…The Exterminatorz
The Terror Tram has returned, and the bugs are taking over. Tour Guide Larva and his bug-headed exterminators are dedicated to getting rid of human pests. Will you survive?
And that rounds out all of the scare zones, live entertainment, and haunted houses you can see at the 2023 Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights. For more information on all things Universal Parks, be sure to keep following us for the latest!
