Universal Orlando’s Proposed Underground Loop Could Expand to International Drive
If you are a theme park fan or Orlando local, you are already familiar with the area’s transportation challenges and how to get around the Universal theme parks.
Universal Orlando Resort’s proposed underground transportation system, or Loop, is intended to help alleviate this, and a local hotel wants in on the conversation.

Frank Santos, CEO of Rosen Hotels & Resorts, recently told the Orlando Business Journal he has already spoken with The Boring Company about adding a stop at Rosen Centre.
The hotel is located on International Drive near the Orange County Convention Center, approximately three miles from Epic Universe.

Santos believes a Rosen Centre station could help move hotel guests and convention travelers through the busy area more efficiently. He acknowledged joining the project would require a significant financial investment but described the potential connection as worthwhile.
A “Loop” for Universal Orlando

The proposed underground “Loop” system would transport guests between Universal Orlando’s original campus and Epic Universe.
The Shingle Creek Transit and Utility Community Development District, a public entity Universal created to oversee local infrastructure projects, began contract negotiations with The Boring Company in February.

This included talks about a multi-phase development plan and proposed stops that would reportedly connect Universal’s main campus, Epic Universe, CityWalk, the Hard Rock Hotel, and Endless Summer Resort.
A Rosen Centre station would expand the project’s reach beyond Universal property. However, the hotel’s location could make the system useful for visitors staying along International Drive or attending events at the convention center.
