More Details on Guest Who Died at Epic Universe
More details are emerging about the guest who died riding Stardust Racers at Universal Orlando.
The guest was identified as 32-year-old Rodriguez Zavala, and has been confirmed by the Orange County Medical Examiner’s office as an accident. The cause of death was also confirmed as multiple blunt impact injuries.

Zavala, who used a wheelchair for a preexisting spinal injury, is being remembered by his family as a beloved brother, son, uncle, and friend.

We reported the tragic accident on September 18th as details started to emerge. Initial reports only shared that a guest died after riding the new Stardust Racers rollercoaster.
According to officials at the time, the adult male guest was found unresponsive after exiting the ride and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Early reports from observers said that Zavala appeared to be slumped over, bleeding, with his leg seemingly broken.

Universal confirmed the incident in a public statement, noting that the attraction was closed pending investigation. It is still closed at this time.
