Sanford Woman Sues Universal for Stardust Racers Injuries
A Sanford woman has filed a lawsuit against Universal Orlando, claiming she suffered permanent injuries after riding the new Stardust Racers roller coaster at Epic Universe.
This is the same attraction that was involved in the recent death of Kevin Rodriguez Zavala.

According to the complaint, 49-year-old Sandi Streets experienced violent and jerky head movements during the ride. Afterwards, she was left with severe headaches and neck pain.
Streets is an annual passholder who visits the parks often. She said the symptoms began immediately after her April 30 ride and have persisted.

Her attorney, Nicholas Spetsas, argues the lap-only restraint system is unsafe at high speeds. “If you got into a car wreck without a shoulder restraint, the insurance company would have a big issue,” he said.
The lawsuit seeks more than $50,000 in damages and demands stronger safety measures. Spetsas further emphasized that the goal is not just compensation but also rider protection. He states that warning signs are not enough.

The lawsuit was filed on the same day that attorney Ben Crump held a press conference urging Stardust Racers to remain closed until investigations into Zavala’s death are complete.
Witnesses reported his head repeatedly struck a metal bar during the ride. The Orange County Medical Examiner ruled his death accidental due to blunt force trauma.
Stardust Racers remains closed at this time.
