Universal Studios Wait Times for May 2025
The calendar may state that it’s early May, yet guests are already swarming Universal Epic Universe.
Park officials have allowed us to open our Christmas presents early this year, and everyone’s loving it.

Before Epic Universe officially opens, it’s important that you remember Universal Orlando Resort hosts two other exceptional theme parks.
Today, we’ll take a break from Epic conversations to talk about them instead. Here are the Universal Studios wait times for May 2025.
Universal Studios Florida –The Big Four and the Other

Universal Globe
First, we should talk about what’s happening in Orlando. As I type this, hundreds, possibly even thousands, of guests are at Epic Universe.
I’ve watched multiple livestreams from the park today. For whatever reason, Universal officials have opened the proverbial floodgates.

As a byproduct of this philosophical change, Universal Orlando’s other two resorts should do…something.
You could argue that attendance should be down due to tourists visiting the hot new park instead.

Conversely, you may believe that the unexpected opportunity is attracting more guests to the campus, where they’ll visit the other parks as well.
Both arguments hold validity, and then we have the x-factors of Spring Break and Easter in April as well.

So, anything could happen here as we evaluate April’s wait times, starting with the park’s most popular rides…and that other one.
We’ll start with that one, as Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit averaged a wait of 47 minutes, which is 12 minutes more than last time.

Guests may be riding the roller coaster while they still can…or the park may be much more crowded. Let’s check with some rides people actually like.
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts averaged a wait of 51 minutes, which is six minutes less than last time. Hmm, interesting.
Let’s check on the Despicable Me rides for additional information. Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem had an average wait of 44 minutes.
That’s one minute less than last time, which is basically a wash. How about Illumination’s Villain-Con: Minion Blast?

Villain-Con Minion Blast
Last month, this ride had an average wait of 17 minutes, which is the same as the previous month. Hmm, that’s still inconclusive.
What was Revenge of the Mummy? During April, the roller coaster’s average wait was 44 minutes, two minutes less than time.

Okay, so we have one ride whose wait was way up and others that are basically the same, albeit slightly lower.
How were the other attractions at Universal Studios? Let’s check:
- Hogwarts Express – King’s Cross Station – 39 minutes, up 2
- TRANSFORMERS The Ride 3D – 39 minutes, up 3
- The Simpsons Ride – 32 minutes, up 1
- T. Adventure – 30 minutes, down 4
- Trolls Trollercoaster – 27 minutes, down 6
- Fast & Furious – Supercharged – 24 minutes, up 3
- MEN IN BLACK Alien Attack! – 23 minutes, down 3
- Kang & Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl – 21 minutes, down 4
- Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon – 19 minutes, down 5

Overall, guests stood in line for an average of 32 minutes per attraction at Universal Studios Florida last month.
That’s one minute less than the previous month, a statistically irrelevant amount.
So, attendance appears to have been a wash here despite the sneak previews happening at Epic Universe.
Universal’s Islands of Adventure

Epic
And that brings us to the other park, Islands of Adventure. We could argue back and forth on which park Epic Universe hurts more.
Of course, that presumes you believe sneaks at Epic hurt rather than help the other parks.
That’s pretty much what we’re trying to determine today, at least as much as we can.
Keeping that in mind, here are the average wait times at Islands of Adventure last month:
- Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure – 92 minutes, down 9
- Jurassic World VelociCoaster – 64 minutes, down 16
- Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls – 54 minutes, up 18
- Pteranodon Flyers – 46 minutes, down 2
- Flight of the Hippogriff – 45 minutes, down 2
- The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man – 39 minutes, down 1
- Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey – 38 minutes, down 3
- The Incredible Hulk Coaster – 37 minutes, down 6
- Skull Island: Reign of Kong – 34 minutes, down 4
- Jurassic Park River Adventure – 32 minutes, up 10
- Hogwarts Express – Hogsmeade Station – 31 minutes, down 4
- Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges – 26 minutes, up 8
- One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish – 24 minutes, down 2
- The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride – 23 minutes, down 7
- Doctor Doom’s Fearfall – 22 minutes, up 2
- The Cat in the Hat – 13 minutes, down 2
- Caro-Seuss-el – 10 minutes, no change
- Stormforce Accelatron – 10 minutes, no change

Overall, guests waited for an average of 34 minutes per attraction. That’s three minutes less than last time.
So, crowds appeared to be lower in April than March, at least at the other two parks at Universal Orlando.

Epic Universe went from zero to…some, so its attendance has increased exponentially.
Next month, we’ll start discussing its wait times as well. That’ll be a side article to this one, at least for the first six months or so.

I’m really looking forward to our finding out about crowd patterns at Universal’s thrilling new park.
