UniversalParksBlog News for August 2nd, 2026
I never expected to talk about Halloween Horror Nights and Fortnite in the same breath.
Here we are, though. The unlikely collaboration will happen in just a few weeks.

I’ll explain in UniversalParksBlog News for August 2nd, 2026.
Start Fragging

Hope, Jonesy, Peely, and Fishstick are heading to Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) 2026.
No, those aren’t words I ever expected to type, but here we are.

WESH
You may not know this, but Disney acquired a ten percent stake in Epic Games in 2024.
Despite this fact, Fortnite will appear at Universal Studios, not a Disney theme park.

Universal
When HHN begins on August 28th, one of the Scare Zones will be Fortnitemares.
For me, that’s any time I get matched up against an eight-year-old because I know I’m gonna lose.

Universal
For HHN fans, it means that when you walk down the wrong path, you’re getting fragged.
Specifically, you’ll enter Freaky Fields, a familiar location to fans of the game.

Cybergoria
Freaky Fields became a game map in season six, episode four.
More specifically, it was a Halloween map in 2025. So, yeah. This one makes sense.

The setting for this level is a haunted farm. You can watch some gameplay footage here:
An earlier, user-created version of this map called Freaky Farm Deathrun dates back to 2022.

Death Eaters
None of this matters to you if you’re not a gamer, but you get the point.
You’ll nervously walk through this Scare Zone, while death lurks in every corner.

Shipyard 32
Seriously, people can snipe you from any angle. I doubt that happens at HHN then.
Well, I hope it doesn’t, but you can expect to get accosted whenever you walk through here.

Jungle of Doom
For fans of the game, I’m happy to report that the Battle Bus will make an appearance!
Universal also promises familiar Fortnitemares characters along with a few surprises.

Pizza Skull
Apparently, they’re creating some stuff just for this Scare Zone.
More HHN Announcements

Universal has confirmed some other aspects of the year’s event.
For starters, you can visit Downtown Clowntown at HHN.

Why you would want to do that is anybody’s guess since everyone hates clowns.
Alas, that’s the point, as this Scare Zone should prove truly unsettling.

In another terrifying collab, Art the Clown will join the Killer Clowns from Outer Space.
The description for this one will definitely provide you with nightmare fuel:

Nightmare Fuel Revenge Dream
“The city that never sleeps becomes a waking nightmare when it’s overrun by Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Art the Clown, and other clownsfolk who can’t wait to tear you limb from limb.”
Who are the other clownsfolk? We’re just gonna have to wait and see.

OC Register
This particular Scare Zone definitely falls into the category of “KILL IT WITH FIRE!” for me, though.
Universal also announced two other Houses for Universal Orlando Resort.

Your Own Slice of Hell is the name for what’s actually a Hellraiser House.
Specifically, Universal will draw inspiration from Clive Barker’s original trilogy.

Remarkably, Hellraiser has never appeared at HHN before. So, this is a big deal.
We’re getting another franchise House this year, too, and it’s a personal favorite.

Evil Dead Burn the movie is currently in theaters, while the House will debut later this month.
Here’s the description for the sadly Ash-free House:

“An infernal force has taken hold of a family home, and it’s hungry for its next victim. Dodge Deadites hell-bent on bloodshed in this haunted house based on the new film, Evil Dead Burn.”
I’ll be so annoying in this House. I’ll just shout “Hail to the king, baby!” the whole way through.

We’re also getting an Ozzy Osbourne House, which I’ll discuss more next time. I think it’s a brilliant choice.
Universal Miscellany

The Los Angeles Times published a fascinating story last week.
According to this report, the neighbors are complaining at Universal Studios Hollywood (USH).

Apparently, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is causing issues with “rider screams.”
It’s exactly what it sounds like. People hop on the coaster and yell their lungs out.

The residents of Toluca Lake worry that it’s going to be a persistent problem.
One local described the screaming sounds as “like someone is getting murdered out there.”

Universal
Yeah, that’s not great. Speaking of USH, we’ve got a newly confirmed House here, too.
This park is also getting Evil Dead Burn and the Hellraiser House.

On top of those, USH will add an exclusive, original House named Dead, Deader, Deadest.
That doesn’t sound like the most inviting House, does it? Here’s the description:

“Uncover the dark secrets of the Deville Family Funeral Home in this haunted house, where reanimated corpses have risen from their graves.”
You had me at reanimated corpses. I’ll take them over clowns any day of the week.

Universal Kids Resort
On the theme park front, I discussed Universal’s earnings last week.
Something that stood out from the earnings calls was the lack of mention of the new park.

Universal Kids Resort
Here’s the only quote about Universal Kids Resort from the entire call:
“With Universal Kids Resort now open in Frisco and our U.K. park moving toward construction, we continue to see a long runway for growth.”

Universal Kids Resort
To be fair, the park hadn’t opened during this quarter, debuting two days later.
Still, in the quarters leading up to Universal Epic Universe, Comcast execs wouldn’t shut up about it.

Universal Kids Resort
So, I have some concerns about the early performance of Universal Kids Resort.
We won’t find out either way for three more months, though. Stay tuned!
