Universal Studios Wait Times for August 2026
Comcast just sent the theme park industry into a frenzy.
The corporation confirmed the spinoff of NBCUniversal, which it’d owned for 15 years now.

One day soon, Universal Studios won’t be a part of Comcast, for better or for worse.
Many fans lament Comcast’s undue influence over the parks.

Still, nobody can argue the fact that Universal has expanded greatly under Comcast.
Also, the decision is odd because theme parks are among Comcast’s strongest performers.

So, we’re facing a ton of change at the parks in the coming years.
And Comcast may be ditching the parks at the right time, as the latest news wasn’t great.

Attendance has dropped at the parks this year, which may be influencing the crowds.
As proof, here are the Universal Studios wait times for August 2026.
Universal Studios Florida – The Big Three

Seriously, that Comcast earnings report made me very nervous.
For the first time in ages, Comcast execs didn’t really want to discuss the parks.

On top of that, when they did, they confirmed lackluster attendance.
Of course, we already knew that from tracking the wait times.

Even the big three at Universal Studios Florida aren’t crowded this summer.
As proof, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts averaged a wait of just 43 minutes.

That’s one minute less than last time and yet another month of sub-45-minute waits.
While the ride is 12 years old now, it had never slid to this range for this long.

Additionally, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem has fallen to 37 minutes.
That’s another one-minute drop from last time and a sign that this wasn’t a crowded month. Again.

Similarly, Revenge of the Mummy averaged a 34-minute wait, which is also down a minute.
So, all members of the Big Three fell month over month.
Universal Studios Florida – Everything Else

The good news is that the other attractions at the park proved a bit more resilient.
Here are their average wait times for the past 31 days:
- The Simpsons Ride – 32 minutes, down 1
- T. Adventure – 30 minutes, up 2
- TRANSFORMERS The Ride 3D – 29 minutes, no change
- Hogwarts Express – King’s Cross Station – 26 minutes, up 1
- Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon – 23 minutes, up 1
- MEN IN BLACK Alien Attack! – 22 minutes, up 1
- Fast & Furious – Supercharged – 17 minutes, up 2
- Kang & Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl – 17 minutes, up 2
- Trolls Trollercoaster – 15 minutes, no change
- Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast – 10 minutes, no change

Overall, the average Universal Studios Florida attraction required a 26-minute wait.
That’s one minute more than last time, which you may recall was down significantly year over year.

Along those lines, the park’s average wait time dropped four minutes from the same timeframe in 2025.
No one should be surprised because Comcast had already told us this.
Universal’s Islands of Adventure

You shouldn’t expect anything different at Islands of Adventure.
Again, had Comcast noticed a bright spot, the corporation would have said so.

Instead, executives were unusually forthright about their theme park struggles.
The whole thing was especially glaring since they were speaking a few weeks after a new theme park debuted.

Since nobody said much about Universal Kids Resort, that’s a bad sign, too.
Those early reviews of the park may have demonstrated actual public sentiment.

Overall, the park’s attractions required an average wait of 29 minutes.

That’s one minute more than the previous month but three minutes lower than in 2025.
The question becomes how much of this dropping demand for Universal Studios versus outside factors.

With the combination of Florida’s oppressive heat waves and a shaky economy, this may be beyond Universal’s control.
