Universal Studios Wait Times for September 2026
Comcast suffered a bit of embarrassment last month.
Executives blamed extenuating circumstances for lackluster theme park attendance.
Then, Disney turned around and reported increased attendance.
Disney executives gleefully taunted Universal Studios about its smaller crowds.

Here are the Universal Studios wait times for September 2026.
Universal Studios Florida – The Big Three

You should know the deal by now. At this point, Universal Studios Florida features three heavyweight attractions.
Everything else here feeds off the crowds at the Big Three. And that’s really, really bad news for Comcast this summer.

We’ve tracked clear signs of diminishing attendance in June and July. Now, we’re about to evaluate August’s data, and it’s…not great.
The park’s most popular attraction wasn’t even above the overall slump.

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts averaged a 34-minute wait.
That’s a stiff 11-minute drop from last month and one of the lowest averages I’ve ever tracked.
Universal.
The other members of the Big Three didn’t drop as much, but they’re down, too.
Despicable Me Minion Mayhem required an average wait of 31 minutes.
That’s six minutes less than last time. So, that’s 17 minutes from just two rides.
Revenge of the Mummy also fell to 30 minutes last month. That’s another decline of four minutes, which paints a picture.

The Big Three averaged a seven-minute drop from July to August.
And July had already shown worrisome signs for Comcast executives.

- Hogwarts Express – King’s Cross Station – 25 minutes, down 1
- The Simpsons Ride – 25 minutes, down 7
- TRANSFORMERS The Ride 3D – 23 minutes, down 6
- Fast & Furious – Supercharged – 22 minutes, up 5
- MEN IN BLACK Alien Attack! – 22 minutes, no change
- Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon – 21 minutes, down 2
- Trolls Trollercoaster – 15 minutes, no change
- Kang & Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl – 14 minutes, down 3
- Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast – 9 minutes, down 1
Villain-Con Minion Blast
Yes, everything except for Fast & Furious – Supercharged dropped last month.
Why didn’t that ride follow suit? Well, it closed permanently on August 16th.

So, this total reflects just a half-month of data as well as last-minute interest.
Guests took one final opportunity to ride the park’s worst attraction.

Well, something else holds that honor now – it’s the Trolls Trollercoaster – but you get the point.
If not for the gallows intrigue about Fast & Furious, everything would have dropped.

As things stand, the average Universal Studios Florida attraction required a 23-minute wait.
That’s three minutes less than during July and an extraordinarily low number for the summer season.
Universal’s Islands of Adventure

Surely, Islands of Adventure performed better than Universal Studios Florida, right?
As Comic Book Guy would say at Springfield, “You’d think so, but no.”
This park suffered even stiffer drops overall, although a couple of thrill rides proved popular.
Here are the park’s average wait times last week:
- Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure – 67 minutes, down 8
- Jurassic World VelociCoaster – 46 minutes, down 12
- Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls – 40 minutes, down 4
- The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man – 36 minutes, up 2
- Flight of the Hippogriff – 26 minutes, down 13
- Skull Island: Reign of Kong – 23 minutes, down 5
- The Incredible Hulk Coaster – 22 minutes, down 7
- Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey – 21 minutes, down 3
- Hogwarts Express – Hogsmeade Station – 21 minutes, down 4
- Doctor Doom’s Fearfall – 15 minutes, down 4
- Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges – 15 minutes, down 6
- The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride! – 13 minutes, down 1
- One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish – 12 minutes, down 3
- The Cat in the Hat – 11 minutes, down 2
- Caro-Seuss-el – 9 minutes, down 1
- Storm Force Accelatron – 8 minutes, no change

As you can see, this park operated four rides with longer waits than anything at Universal Studios Florida.
Despite this fact, guests stood in line for just 24 minutes for the average Islands of Adventure attraction.

That’s five minutes less than during July and once again a near-historic low for the summer.
On the bright side, if you visited Universal Orlando Resort in August, you had a great time!
