Seuss Landing: Oh The Places You’ll Go!
Seuss Landing at Universal’s Islands of Adventure brings kids and adults right into the fantastical world of Dr. Seuss! From the first colorful Truffula tree you see to the moment you hop on an animated Elephant Bird on the Caro-Seuss-el, you’ll feel like you are in the middle of a Dr. Seuss book! There is so much to do and see and just walking through you’ll be taken back to some of your favorite childhood classics!
Take a look at the “Places to Go” in Seuss Landing…
If I Ran the Zoo
Gerald McGrew and his zoo full of wacky animals will keep the little ones laughing and playing for hours. There are slides, tunnels, a water play spot and interactive game areas. There are also really great photo ops here for those awesome candid shots that you’ll want to frame when you get home!
Fair warning: when we brought my (then) 1 ½ year old daughter here, we couldn’t get her to leave. So just be sure to time your visit right (maybe when the grown-ups need a little break from all the roller coaster action!)
The Cat in the Hat
You know the story and you know the craziness that the Cat in the Hat brings when he visits Sally & her brother. Now, you can experience all the fun by hopping in your Couch Car, getting in the middle of the story and seeing familiar friends, such as Mr. Krinklebein, Thing One and Thing Two.
Do you think the mess will be cleaned up before Mother gets home? You’ll have to ride to find out!
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
I just love these guys! Which one will you ride- red fish, blue fish, yellow fish, green fish? It doesn’t really matter because you will be in for a fun-filled ride on any of these flying fish!
This is Dr. Seuss that we are talking about, though, so you don’t really think it’s just an ordinary flying fish ride, do you? It’s not! There are fountains, spitting fountains, spitting fountains that will get you wet! Unless, of course, you listen to the instructions in the song…up, up, up…down, down, down!
Caro-Seuss-el
This may be my absolute favorite merry-go-round that I have ever been on! Not only can you ride an elephant bird, or a cowfish, or a mulligatawny, but you can also animate and control each one with the reigns or levers on your “animal.”
Guess who overlooks this extraordinary carousel? You got it…Horton! Be sure to look up so he can see all the fun you are having!
The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride!
If you are looking for a relaxing ride with great views of Seuss Landing, grab the family and get aboard this trolley train ride. As you are waiting, you’ll hear the story of the Sneetches…one of my personal favorites! Then you’ll be on your way…
Need a reason to ride this a second time? Well, there are two different tracks, so you have to test them both out, right?
Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous
When your crew is ready for a bite to eat, head over to the big top for a delicious and colorful dining experience! Even the seating choices here are fun…choose between a table in the middle of the action or a tucked away train car booth.
Circus McGurkus Café Stoo-pendous is a quick-service location that offers favorites, like fried chicken, pizza, spaghetti, cheeseburgers and Caesar salad.
Remember flying through this circus tent during your trolley train ride? Well, don’t forget to look up and wave to all the other guests coming through for a visit!
Hop on Pop Ice Cream Shop
There’s nothing better than ice cream to cool down after a day of fun in the hot Florida sun! AND you don’t even have to leave Seuss Landing to grab a refreshing treat!
Hop on Pop Ice Cream Shop serves all the classics, such as ice cream sundaes, waffle cones and root beer floats…but you have to try their signature Pop’s Sundae on a Stick, a vanilla ice cream bar hand-dipped in chocolate with the toppings of your choice! Yum!
Moose Juice, Goose Juice
If you just need a quick snack and drink, look no further than Moose Juice, Goose Juice! You’ll find snacks for everyone- churros, pretzels, corn dogs, cookies and fruit. For those who want a refreshing drink, I recommend ordering a frozen orange juice or a frozen sour green apple juice..I mean, where else can you get Moose Juice or Goose Juice?
So, get ready to become a kid again in Seuss Landing! Maybe you’ll even get a photo with Thing One and Thing Two in front of a Truffula Tree on your way through!
