Harry Potter Star Michael Gambon Dies at Age 82
Sad news to wake up to this morning. It was with a heavy heart we share that Michael Gambon has passed away at age 82.
An accomplished actor and well-respected talent, Gambon was best known for playing Professor Albus Dumbledore in six of the eight Harry Potter films.
A statement released this morning shared:
We are devastated to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon. Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside.
His family made the announcement this morning via publicist.

According to Wikipedia, Sir Michael John Gambon was an Irish-English actor who began his career as one of the original members of the Royal National Theatre.
His career spans over 6 decades. He received multiple awards and recognition, including three Olivier Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and four BAFTA Awards.
However, the Dublin-born actor had a passion for acting. Gambon went on to work in all mediums becoming an established and well-respected star on TV, film, theatre and radio.
Gambon is best-known for his portrayal of Professor Dumbledore in the Harry Potter franchise. He was cast in the Harry Potter series after the death of his predecessor, Richard Harris, in 2002.
Sir Michael Gambon leaves behind his widow Lady Gambon and son Fergus.
