Universal Studios Wait Times for February 2025
A hotel at Universal Epic Universe is open! Repeat. An Epic Universe hotel is now hosting guests!
Why is this important? We’ll start tracking gradual changes in crowd behavior as the park nears its opening date.
For the moment, the debut of Universal Stella Nova Resort doesn’t matter much in terms of theme park impact.
Of course, not much does. We just finished January, one of the two slowest months on the annual calendar.

You should keep that in mind as we discuss the Universal Studios wait times for February 2025.

As a reminder, we call it the February update, but we’re discussing the average wait times for January.
Ordinarily, I separate these discussions into two parks and then differentiate the most popular attractions at Universal Studios Florida.
That’s become a somewhat ridiculous proposition in recent months as a Minions ride has diminished in popularity.
Meanwhile, Universal will thankfully put Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit out of its misery later this year.

I was just joking with a friend that it’s nice we’ve finally dropped the façade of pretending this was ever a good ride.
Fans have known for more than a month that the attraction is ending soon.

Unexpectedly, this knowledge did have at least a temporary impact on the roller coaster’s popularity.
Guests stood in line for an average of 53 minutes, which is a whopping 19 minutes more than last time.

Of course, there’s a secondary reason for this change. Several of the times we’ll discuss come with asterisks.
Central Florida experienced a historically cold December, which altered operations.

I’ll leave it to you to decide which rides were impacted by the January oddities.
What I will say is that Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts averaged a wait of 62 minutes, which is one minute more than last time.
Meanwhile, Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem hovered at 46 minutes, which is three minutes more than December.
Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast dropped to 17 minutes, which is three less than last time.

Finally, Revenge of the Mummy averaged a 47-minute wait, which is four minutes more than last time.
So, the park’s top rides generally required longer waits. Minion Blast really doesn’t fall into that category anymore.
As intended, that ride has become a crowd-pleaser that siphons traffic off the streets.
Universal Studios Florida – Everything Else

Were the top rides that much more popular than the rest, or did most attractions increase their average wait last month?
Let’s check right now. Here are the other average wait times at Universal Studios Florida:
- Hogwarts Express – King’s Cross Station – 41 minutes, up 3
- TRANSFORMERS The Ride 3D – 40 minutes, down 4
- The Simpsons Ride – 36 minutes, up 3
- E.T. Adventure – 33 minutes, down 1
- Trolls Trollercoaster – 31 minutes, down 4
- Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon – 25 minutes, no change
- MEN IN BLACK Alien Attack! – 24 minutes, down 9
- Kang & Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl – 23 minutes, down 4
- Fast & Furious – Supercharged – 21 minutes, no change

Overall, this park’s attractions averaged a wait of 35 minutes, which is the same as December.
Realistically, this should never happen, as December is the busy season. But it’s a thing at Universal Orlando Resort.
Last year, December and January averaged waits of 35 and 37 minutes. Yes, January had longer wait times.
So, this behavior is highly unusual in the theme park industry but not rare for Universal.
Universal’s Islands of Adventure

Overall, Islands of Adventure guests stood in line for an average of 35 minutes, which is four minutes less than last time.
So, why does this park drop more than Universal Studios Florida in January? Grinch-mas ends! It really is that simple.

We witnessed the same thing last year…and I mean exactly.
The average waits at Islands of Adventure were 39 minutes in December and then 35 minutes in January.

For this reason, we cannot blame anything about the wait times on the weather.
Fans apparently just prioritized the best of Universal Studios Florida last month, especially…Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.

No, I don’t get it either.
