A New Era of Spell-Casting Begins with Second Generation Interactive Wands at Universal
Do you dream of casting spells just like a real witch? Do you dream of being the next best wizard? Pretty soon, you can be immersed in a new Universal experience.
Starting March 1, Universal Orlando Resort will introduce the all-new Second Generation Interactive Wands, which will take spell-casting and personalization in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter to a whole new level.
Introducing the Second Generation Interactive Wands
The latest collection of interactive wands will be available in Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, and Place Cachée in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe.
Four brand-new designs are about to drop with new features, including:
- Illumination effects to bring spells to life
- Haptic vibrations unique to each spell, making magic more immersive than ever
- A spell map to guide you through locations where you can cast spells
More Interactive Spell Locations
Universal has also added five new interactive spell-casting locations throughout Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, bringing the total number to 30.
In addition, all existing spell-casting areas have been enhanced with new casting effects, magical spell-books (at select locations), and more surprises for a new experience.
Universal Play: Personalize Your Magical Journey
Make sure you download the Universal Orlando Resort App! The Second Generation Interactive Wands will unlock exclusive adventures, rewards, and magical surprises through Universal Play in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Harry Potter fans can earn points for a Hogwarts House, cast their own Patronus, experience unique spell effects tailored to their progress, and embark on thrilling adventures across all three wizarding lands!
Your interactive wand will take you on incredible wizarding adventures in all three parks!
And with Universal Play, every spell you cast contributes to your magical journey, helping you grow as a wizard and unlock special awards and achievements.
Digital Map and Wizard Profile
No Wizarding journey is complete without a map, and Universal Play includes a digital map to help guide you through Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, and Place Cachée.
You can also personalize your Wizard Profile by customizing a name, avatar, house, and Patronus!

You can purchase your wand at Ollivanders Wand Shop, Wands by Gregorovitch, or the soon-to-open Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magiques in Place Cachée.
- Download the Universal Orlando Resort App to pair your wand and access Universal Play.
- Set Up Your Wizard Profile and start casting spells, unlocking achievements, and earning House Points.
