BREAKING: Universal Announces New Theme Park Coming to UK
Universal Studios has just announced plans for its first UK theme park, which will be located in Bedfordshire.
After ministers give the final approval, the project will take 6 years to build and is expected to bring substantial economic benefits and job opportunities to the region.
A Landmark Development
The proposed Universal Studios theme park will span approximately 476 acres on a former brickworks site near Bedford.
This location was selected due to its excellent transportation links and proximity. It is 45 minutes from London and easily accessible from Luton Airport.
Economic Impact and Jobs
The development is projected to contribute nearly £50 billion to the UK economy by 2055. Mike Cavanagh, the president of Comcast Corporation, shared:
We could not be more excited to take this very important step in our plan to create and deliver an incredible Universal theme park and resort in the heart of the United Kingdom.
Universal
During the construction phase, around 20,000 jobs are expected to be created, with an additional 8,000 permanent positions once the park becomes operational.
Universal aims to employ local residents, with 75% of the workforce to come from Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes.

While specific details have not been released, the park is anticipated to feature themed lands inspired by fan-fave Universal franchises, including Harry Potter, Super Mario, and Minions.
In addition, the resort will include a 500-room hotel with retail outlets, dining and restaurant options, and entertainment complexes.

The UK government has expressed strong support for the project, recognizing its potential to boost tourism and the economy.
