UniversalParksBlog News for May 25th, 2026
We finally know what will anchor Halloween Horror Nights 2026.
This year’s event will feature a House based on Sinners. So, we’re all going.

Let’s discuss the joy in this week’s UniversalParksBlog News.
A Grand Slam

In 2024, Ghostbusters and A Quiet Place Houses were the big franchises.
Last year, the WWE licensed the Wyatt Sicks for a House.

That one went so well that the WWE laid off every member of the Wyatt Sicks last month.
Okay, I’m kidding. It had nothing to do with the House, just with WWE being run by terrible people.

Last year’s anchor was actually Fallout, which had a mixed reception.
I loved it, but I’m a huge fan of the show and too biased on the topic.

Keeping that in mind, we just learned that there’s a Sinners House in 2026.
At the risk of once again being accused of bias, I will simply say:

Universal
THIS WILL BE THE GREATEST HOUSE IN THE HISTORY OF HHN…OR HOUSING!!!
That statement included only 30 percent hyperbole. The rest is pretty much how I feel.

In my former life, I was a movie critic with a Rotten Tomatoes listing.
When I watched Sinners last year, I thought it was the best film of the 2020s.

Universal
Once awards season rolled around, I told fellow critics my feelings.
No matter what won this past year at the Academy Awards, it was less than Sinners.

To my pleasant surprise, Sinners almost pulled an upset, a remarkable feat for a vampire flick.
The prevailing belief is that Sinners finished second in the Best Picture race.

While that’s amazing, Sinners still got robbed because it was THE best movie last year.
A Confession and a Discussion

Universal
A House based on Sinners makes me so happy that I may adjust my vacation plans.
I’ll be on a Disney cruise until the morning of my birthday in September.

Conveniently, there’s a Halloween Horror Nights event on that date.
There’s a real chance I’ll take the Brightline from Fort Lauderdale to Orlando.

My sole purpose in doing so would be to visit the Sinners House at HHN. I’m not joking.
I haven’t been this excited about a House since Universal announced The Weeknd.

I’m not even a big fan of The Weeknd; it’s more that I love unique Houses.
Sinners will have that in spades due to the concept and Universal’s implementation.
The theme is that you’re visiting a 1930s Mississippi Delta juke joint.

Let’s just say that it doesn’t go well because of all the vampires.
Before the chaos breaks out, a wild musical performance occurs.

If you haven’t seen the movie, it looks like this:
There was also this sizzling Academy Awards performance that broke my brain:
Now that you’ve watched these clips, I have two questions for you.

1: Why haven’t you watched Sinners yet? 2: Do you have HHN tickets yet?
If the answer to the second question is no, speak with an agent at Let’s Adventure Travel ASAP!

You do not want to get shut out of the 2026 Sinners House. Here’s a description:
“(The) House will transport guests back in time to the popular Club Juke.”

Guests will realize that “nothing is as it seems when nefarious, red-eyed vampires Remmick, Bert, and Joan appear.”
The situation devolves from there, as the vampires start turning others.

“Caught in a deadly struggle between twins Smoke and Stack and the bloodthirsty vampires, guests must survive the night.”

Captain Cacao is coming to Universal Epic Universe!
Okay, you don’t know who that is yet, as he’s an original character.

You’ll find him greeting guests at Celestial Park starting today, May 22nd.
The captain is a fuzzy bear you may have already seen as merch.

Moonship Chocolates & Celestial Sweets has been selling Captain Cacao teddy bears for a while.
On the Lost Continent front, Universal officials didn’t waste any time.

Demolition is already occurring, with several buildings showing visible damage.
Some of the longstanding structures may not even be standing by the time you read this.

These were opening day architectural developments that will soon be gone forever.
So, we’re all feeling a bit bittersweet while awaiting an announcement about what’s next.

Elsewhere at the parks, Horror Make-Up Show has officially closed for reimagining.
Universal has remained coy about what’s coming next, but it’ll be a minute.

The prevailing belief is that this experience won’t return until the end of 2026.
Personally, I’d expect them to rush it in time for Halloween at the parks.

However, there may be construction and other technical concerns that make this timeline impossible.
Nobody knows for sure, and Universal definitely isn’t talking.

On the bright side, Steven Spielberg fans are in for a treat.
The Spielberg Summer Blockbusters Limited-Time Exhibit is now open.

I’ll discuss this one more next time, but here’s a video:
This is one of several limited-time summer film experiences available at Universal Orlando Resort.

Finally, someone posted this on YouTube the other day, and I found it fascinating.
Here’s what Monsters Unchained looks like with the lights on:
