We are less than two weeks away from the opening of Universal Kids Resort.
So, the big stories this week are obviously…Halloween Horror Nights and fireworks-related.

Epic Fireworks!

Since its inception last May, fans have adored Universal Epic Universe.
However, many have lamented something missing at the park.

Epic lacks that showstopping finale to end the night right and send guests home with a smile.
Well, Universal officials have decided to fill that void in month 13!

I’m happy to report that a nightly fireworks presentation is coming to Epic.
Universal Celestial Goodnight will debut on July 7th, which I find a bit odd.

I’d think that this is a show the park would want up and running in time for July 4th weekend.
Maybe I’m nitpicking? Anyway, the point is that we’re just 16 days from this show!

Universal describes it as “a dazzling new nightly display of fireworks, dancing fountains and unforgettable music at Universal Epic Universe.”
The Instagram account also warns that the show is subject to change or cancellation.

That’s just a reference to this being an outdoor experience sometimes impacted by rain.
So, the odds of a cancellation are quite low and nothing for you to worry about.

Instead, you have plenty of reason for excitement as it’s finally happening!
Epic Universe will end your visit with an explosive finale…and a real crowd-pleaser at that.

The images suggest that the best play to view Universal Celestial Goodnight is at Celestial Park.
These pictures show fireworks exploding somewhere over Universal Helios Grand Hotel.

The Orlando Sentinel reports the following about the fireworks presentation:
“The show will be staged in Epic’s Celestial Park, which stretches from the entrance to the foot of the Helios Grand Hotel.”

This show will also use the latest in technology to make it a signature event.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Universal Celestial Goodnight will:

“feature synchronized choreography utilizing the park’s 600 light fixtures, 350 water fountains, 7 million embedded LEDs, and pyrotechnics set to a “high-energy musical core.”
This presentation will complement CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular.

Universal Studios Florida hosts that presentation, which features mist-screen digital projections.
Speculation is ongoing about the shape that Universal Celestial Goodnight will take.

Rather than guessing, I’ll simply say that we should know more by next time.

A Stranger House

The Duffer Brothers are currently having a weird month.
After creating Stranger Things, the siblings pitched Netflix on their next project.
Now, The Boroughs has already come and gone on the streaming service.
Netflix quietly canceled The Boroughs after just one season, which isn’t a good sign.
Coincidentally or not, the directing duo is now focusing on a Paramount film coming in 2028.
However, the Duffers got some great news about Halloween Horror Nights 2026.
Once again, a Stranger Things House will be one of the anchors at this year’s event.
Stranger Things has appeared at several previous HHN events, starting in 2018.

At the time, Universal put together a maze themed to the story.
The following year, the first House arrived, based on the second and third seasons.

In 2023, we got a new House based on the show’s mythic fourth season.
Now, we’re getting the finale, a House based on the climactic final season.

I immediately hope that rumors persist of a final post-season House, just like they were for the season.
Anyway, you should know the deal by now. Stranger Things at HHN is a really big deal.

Fans can visit Hawkins one more time at Universal Orlando Resort AND Universal Studios Hollywood.
In combination with the Sinners House, Universal is definitely stacking the deck.

Alas, I should update you on a modest change at Universal Orlando this year.
The free parking option after midnight is no longer a thing.

Universal updated its official site to indicate that guests must pay to park, even after midnight.
So, the post-midnight free parking hack goes down in history as another lost theme park freebie.

This summer has been a relatively slow news period despite the theme park on the horizon.
I can tell you that Universal Kids Resort will open in ten days.

We don’t have any footage yet, at least not of the theme park.
However, Super Enthused did get to visit Universal Kids Resort Hotel. Here’s the clip:
I’m not sure adults are the target audience here, but she’s clearly having a blast.

Finally, I’d feel remiss if I failed to mention the scorching heat at the park this summer.
I experienced this firsthand when I was in Orlando during Memorial Day Week.
The heat index reached at least 107 degrees every day of our trip.
This past week, the situation somehow declined from there.

On three different days, the heat index hit 110 degrees, which is…too much.
If you are lucky enough to visit Universal Orlando, please follow a few simple rules.

Cover yourself in sunscreen from head to toe, and hydrate twice as much as usual.
Also, try to alternate indoor and outdoor attractions throughout your park visit.
That way, you’ll avoid sustained exposure to this absolutely scorching weather.
