Universal Orlando is preparing to transform the resort, and longtime fans may want to plan one more visit to some classic locations before they disappear.
Lost Continent Closing at Islands of Adventure

Universal Orlando confirmed that the Lost Continent area at Universal Islands of Adventure will begin closing in phases over the coming months to make way for a brand-new themed land.
While Universal has not revealed what that area will become, the announcement marks the end of one of the park’s original opening-day lands.

Much of Lost Continent has already been reduced over the years, with The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad closing in 2018 and Poseidon’s Fury shutting down in 2023.
Mythos Restaurant Closing in 2027
As part of the transformation, the fan-fave Mythos Restaurant will permanently close in 2027.
The award-winning restaurant has been a staple of Islands of Adventure for years and is considered one of the best theme park restaurants in Orlando.
New Jurassic Park Dining Experience

Universal also announced changes for the Jurassic Park area!
Thunder Falls Terrace will close later this summer and will reopeninto a new signature full-service restaurant expected to open in 2027.
Horror Make-Up Show Getting Reimagined

At Universal Studios Florida, the popular Horror Make-Up Show will temporarily close beginning May 12 for updates.
Universal says the refreshed version will feature both classic and modern horror franchises, along with new surprises for guests. We can’t wait!

More additions are also coming to Universal CityWalk Orlando, including Fat One’s Hot Dogs and Italian Ice, a new Five Guys location, and Luke Combs’ Category 10 entertainment venue.
