Video: It’s A Cinematic Celebration!
Select nights at Universal Parks Orlando an epic show lights up the night sky. Universal’s Cinematic Celebration is a combination of music, movies, water, lights and projections. This show transports guests to the movies in a spectacular way. Spoiler Alert: This is the full show so only watch if you want to see everything.
Here is the official Universal description of the show from the UniversalOrlando.com website:
An epic show is lighting up the night at Universal Studios Florida™ with a colossal celebration of music, water and light that transforms the park and takes you into the movies like never before.
As music from the world’s biggest films fills the air, scores of shining, dancing fountains erupt. Massive walls of water blaze with incredible movie moments and powerful projections bring the entire waterfront into the movies. You’ll see and hear roaring dinosaurs from Jurassic World, feel the adrenaline rush of high-speed cars from Fast & Furious, watch the mischievous antics of the Minions from Illumination’s Despicable Me, and so much more.
Don’t miss the amazing new show that’s making nights at Universal Studios™ brighter and bolder than ever.
The show opened in July 16th, 2018. It is full of movies including Fast and Furious, Despicable Me, ET, Jurassic Park and Harry Potter. The show utilizes 40 foot wide water curtains, over 120 fountains, fireworks and projection mapping to transport you straight into the movies. The water curtains act as movie screens and projections are mapped on the buildings surrounding the lagoon. The show does not run every night, and right now it is closed during the restrictions related to COVID-19.
The viewing area will hold up to 6,500 guests so it is a good idea to get there 30-45 minutes before the show in order to get a good seat.
When Universal goes back to business as usual post-virus, we hope they also bring back the Cinematic Dessert Parties. This party is available for a separate ticket and allows guests an all-you-can-eat buffet with specialty desserts and VIP seating for the show. These dessert parties were typically around a holiday and could include seating for the holiday parade.
The Harry Potter section of Cinematic Celebration is a fan favorite and contains many magical moments so make sure to purchase your wand. The purpose of the show is to immerse guests in the magic of the movies. Here is a video from Universal on how they made the magic happen.
