Things to Do in Toon Lagoon!
Toon Lagoon may be one of the most animated islands in Universal’s Islands of Adventure. You’ll see larger than life cartoon style buildings, fun photo ops and can maybe even see some favorite timeless characters, like Betty Boop, Popeye and Olive Oyl! Not only will you feel like you are walking through the pages of a comic book as you stroll down Comic Strip Lane, but you will also find that this is a great island to cool off in the Florida sun! Oh yeah, and the lagoon part should give you a clue as to just how wet you will get there!
Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls
You will get wet…very wet! I can vouch for that. This ride is a combination of a flume and roller coaster, which leads to big splashes and a lot of laughs. You’ll follow Dudley Do-Right in his mission to save Nell Fenwick, who has once again been kidnapped by Snidely Whiplash. You’ll twist and turn and see some funny “turn back” and “danger ahead” signs throughout the ride, but nothing will truly prepare you for the 75-foot drop that will get you soaked!
Warning: Just when you think you are done with the water, you just may get shot with water cannons by onlookers on the bridge!
Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges
Bluto has done it again…he has taken Olive Oyl and now Popeye needs to save her! There will be lots of splashes and an 18 foot octopus to deal with, but in the end, the good guy always wins, right? Don’t expect a calm and peaceful raft ride!
You will absolutely get soaked but will also have a lot of fun (and screams) at the same time.
Me Ship, The Olive
This interactive play area is intended for kids and adults of all ages! There are three colorful and imagination-filled levels to the ship, and each offers a variety of fun! You’ll see slides, passageways, climbing nets, interactive musical instruments and more!
Be sure to also get those Barge riders a little more wet by spraying those water cannons at them! This will guarantee to soak them and make you laugh watching!
Note: This attraction is temporarily closed. Check the Universal Orlando website for updates.
Snacks and More
All this action will be sure to make you hungry! There are a few great options for the family right here in Toon Lagoon.
Comic Strip Café has something for everyone: chicken, pizza burgers, fish and chips, and even Italian and Asian dishes. While you are waiting for your food, you can read some classic comics like Beetle Bailey, Nancy and Hagar the Horrible!
If you are like Dagwood and prefer a sandwich, you’ll want to head over to Blondie’s. Deli sandwiches, subs, footlong hot dogs and the “piled-high Dagwood sandwich” are all menu options here.
We can’t forget those burger lovers, though! Remember Wimpy? “I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.” Well, be sure to stop by Wimpy’s for “on-the-go” options like cheeseburgers, chicken fingers, curly fries, salads and ice cream.
Whether you are a rider who will get wet or an observer who will shoot a water cannon or two, you’ll find plenty to do and see (and eat) in Toon Lagoon. Just don’t forget to pack your poncho!
