Everything NEW Just Announced for Epic Universe
We just found out some very exciting news about Universal’s new theme park, Epic Universe! The park was announced back in 2019 and Universal hasn’t really said much about it since…until now.
They’ve announced the lands as well as some of the attractions and restaurants — so let’s take a look at everything coming to the new park.
Everything New Confirmed for Epic Universe
Five Themed Lands
We already talked a little about the lands coming to park, but we’re putting them here for reference as well.
The five lands of the park are:
- Celestial Park: The first land you will enter into when you get inside Epic Universe. This area will have rolling gardens, chasing waterways, and strolling pathways, as well as architecture inspired by astronomical and mythological elements. It will also be your way into the portals for the next four lands in the park.
- The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic: A new era of The Wizarding World in a land that combines 1920s Paris (from the Fantastic Beasts movies) with the 1990s British Ministry of Magic we see in the Harry Potter movies.
- SUPER NINTENDO WORLD: Guests will journey through that iconic green pipe and find a new way to play in the universe of Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Donkey Kong. You will also get to challenger Bowser on the Mario Kart ride and go through Donkey Kong Country.
- How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk: Guests will be able to soar with the beloved dragons from How to Train Your Dragon film franchise in a colorful world filled with Viking adventures. There will be wild boat battles, feasts fit for a Viking, and more.
- Dark Universe: Explore the world of Universal’s classic monsters and encounter experiments from Dr. Victoria Frankenstein, as well as Wolf Man and Dracula. There will be a shadowy landscape where the monsters roam in a world of myth and mystery.
Attractions
We found out about some of the rides that will be located in the Celestial Park section of Epic Universe! Let’s take a look.
Starfall Racers
First up is Starfall Racers, which is a dual-launch coaster reaching speeds up to 62 mph. You will race across the cosmos on a comet and rocket through the stars, with heights up to 33 feet along 5,000 feet of track.
The coasters will race along and inverted crisscross that will be known as the “Celestial Spin” in a dazzling display of bright colors and ethereal music.
There will be no external track lighting at night, so the fully illuminated ride vehicles will look like comets shooting across the night sky above Celestial Park.
We also know that there will be a height requirement for this ride — you have to be at least 48 inches (122 cm) tall.
Constellation Carousel
This carousel promises to be like one you’ve never seen before! You can ride the constellations on carriages of celestial lions, dragons, peacocks, and more.
The carriages will also turn 360 degrees and lift you up to 6 feet in the air! Celestial music and color will be present while you whirl and twirl across the Milky Way.
The ceiling of this ride is actually a Star Tracker that will feature rotating celestial star patterns with a center Mesmerizer creating a ribbon cone effect above you while you’re riding.
This ride will have no height requirement, but kids under 48 inches have to be accompanies by a supervising companion and hand-held infants are not allowed.
Astronomica
Astronomica will be an interactive wet-play area that also doubles as a giant compass rose for Epic Universe! There will be crystal blue fountains that spring to life and dance around guests.
Restaurants
Atlantic
Atlantic will be a full-service “surf and turn” restaurant inside the glass walls of a huge Victorian aquarium in Celestial Park.
Universal describes it as an undersea culinary fantasy across the shimmering waters of the Neptune pool in this area of the park. You will see starfish hanging out along with illuminated fish swimming above you.
The decorative fish that line the ceiling will actually be surrounded by metallic curtains that shimmer, creating the illusion that you’re underwater.
You can also check out the Aquaria Bar here!
The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant
This full-service dining spot in Celestial Park will be a culinary journey across Asia including Japanese, Chinese, and Thai cuisine. Inside, you’ll find a bustling courtyard underneath some glowing lanterns as well as neon dragons across the walls.
Universal said the restaurant will have signage hanging around it that has a lot of easter eggs for Celestial Park, so you’ll, have to keep your eyes peeled!
This spot will also feature the Tiger Bar, where you can grab a cocktail and some more Asian fare.
The Oak & Star Tavern
We don’t have a ton of details about this spot yet, but we do know that it will serve savory barbecue.
Pizza Moon
Can you guess what will be served at this dining location? Yep, a variety of pizzas!
Shopping
Nintendo Super Star Store
This store will actually be in Celestial Park, so you don’t need to go inside SUPER NINTENDO WORLD to check it out.
It will have toys, apparel, collectibles, jewelry, and other souvenirs themed after all things Nintendo.
Moonship Chocolates & Celestial Sweets
People with a sweet tooth will want to visit Moonship Chocolates & Celestial Sweets! Universal said there will be a “unique” selection of sweet treats here.
Entertainment
Fountain Shows
Some of the exciting entertainment you can expect includes various fountain shows throughout Celestial Park! The seven acres of water here will have shows included a multitude of fountains that sway, dance, and shoot up to 135 feet in the air, all set to music and interactive lighting, of course.
Universal Helios Grand Hotel
We knew about two of the new hotels being built for Epic Universe, but we just found out that there will also actually be a hotel INSIDE the park! Universal Helios Grand Hotel will transport guests to a world where the heavens and earth unite.
It will have 500 rooms, one-of-a-kind views, and its own entrance into Epic Universe.
Universal said that an interactive preview center will debut at Universal CityWalk later this year that will give a sneak peek at Epic Universe. We’ll let you know more details when we find out!
