1. Opera Singers on the Piazza
The Piazza at Portofino Bay is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Case in point, every night at sunset you’ll be able to hear the romantic sounds of the resort’s opera singers! We recommend that you head to Sal’s Market Deli, grab a cheese plate and a glass of wine and enjoy!
2. Gelato
You can’t have a trip to Italy without taking some time to sample one of the countries famous gelato treats. You’ll find a variety of delicious flavors at Portofino Bay including pistachio gelato while taking in those beautiful harbor view. Be sure to pop by the Gelateria which is right next door to Starbucks on the Harbor Piazza. At this delightful ice cream shop you’ll also find milkshakes, smoothies, pastries, coffee and espresso.
3. Mandara Spa
One of the best ways to enjoy the Riviera-style glamour of Portofino Bay is to head to the Spa. Mandara Spa located on the property offers a wide range of incredible offerings including their famous Balinese Message. You’ll also find wraps and facials or even a quick hand and foot massage to ease the pain of pounding the pavement at the theme parks.
4. Three Pools
Portofino Bay Boasts three incredible pools. This property has the most on-site hotels at Universal Orlando Resort and each is uniquely delightful and refreshing. Let’s take a look each:
- Beach Pool – The main pool is the perfect place for a family hang-out. It features a Roman aqueduct-themed waterslide, sandy beach, children’s pool, and two hot tops!
- Villa Pool – This pool is more intimate and features private cabanas and upgraded lounge chairs.
- Hillside Pools – For those looking for even more seclusion, head over the resort’s east wing for a serene place to relax by the water and perhaps catch up on your vacation reading!
5. Bocce Ball and Games by the Pool
For families in the mood for a bit of friendly competition, Portofino Bay has its own Bocce Ball court. You can challenge your friends and family to a game of bocce ball next to the Villa Pool. You’ll also find a ping-pong table by the Beach Pool. There’s also a wide range of poolside activities including water balloon tosses, pool basketball, hula hoop contests and even arts and crafts!
