UniversalParksBlog News for August 14th, 2026
Universal Studios just firmed up its holiday schedule for the rest of the year.
We now know final details about Halloween Horror Nights, and that’s not all.

Universal
Universal also tipped us on Grinchmas 2026! It’s all happening!
So, let’s ignore the fact that we’ve got one more month of summer and skip straight to the good stuff.

This UniversalParksBlog News will fast-forward the seasons into fall and winter.
Merry Christmas?

The heat index is 101 degrees as I’m typing this, and it’s even worse in Orlando today.
So, I understandably feel a bit weird talking about Christmas right now.

However, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has already started at Walt Disney World.
Halloween Horror Nights, which we’ll discuss in a bit, begins in 12 days.

Therefore, no matter what the calendar and thermometer say, it’s time to think seasonally.
In fact, you’re about to forget about the scorching hot weather as soon as I tell you something.

For the first time ever, Universal Epic Universe will celebrate the holiday season!
While the park offered some light decorations last year, it didn’t do much in the greater scheme.

Tourists noted the stark contrast between it and Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
Well, park officials plan to bridge that holiday gap in 2026.

Epic Universe will host holiday decorations at Super Nintendo World and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk.
I’m already picturing Toothless getting into the Christmas spirit…or whatever Viking dragons celebrate.

Celestial Park will also bring back what Universal describes as a “cosmic winter wonderland.”
Don’t worry, though! It’s not just these three locations getting decorations!

Universal has promised “festive lights and décor” throughout the park.
Since the few decorations we saw last year at Epic Universe were terrific, this news is exciting.

One day soon, the park will come alive with the electric glow of holiday lighting.
And we know the day! Universal revealed that the holiday season starts on November 14th.

So, this is your 90-day warning for Christmas at Epic Universe.
Grinchmas Returns

Photo: Universal
We don’t really know what we’ll get at Epic yet and won’t for another three months.
However, we’re fully aware of the splendor of Grinchmas at Islands of Adventure.

On November 14th, Seuss Landing will transition into The Grinch’s winter wonderland.
This year’s celebration will continue through January 3rd, giving you plenty of time to visit.

Universal
Universal has promised the triumphant return of Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular.
The live stage show is an absolute must as it re-tells the story of How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Universal has also indicated that The Grinch will interact with guests at Who-Ville Tree Lot.
The precise wording is that he will “stroll the dazzling Who-Ville Tree Lot.”

I presume he’ll host a character greeting as well, but the press release didn’t mention it.
Given the three-hour lines, Universal may be trying something new this year.

My guess is that we’re getting both to alleviate some of the pressure at the character greeting.
The Grinch has previously done something similar, but this sounds like a more full-throated approach.

You’ll find plenty of holiday fun at Universal Studios Florida as well.
Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s will once again delight children of all ages.

This year’s floats will feature Shrek, Madagascar, and Despicable Me characters.
I know what you’re thinking, but if it ain’t broke, why fix it?

If you want to skip the lines, the Universal Holiday Tour is your best bet.
This offering provides an exclusive meeting with The Grinch and his faithful puppy, Max.

Plus, you get reserved seats for the parade and Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular.
Universal even throws in a Santa Claus character greeting for good measure!

Universal
So, you’ll find plenty to love at the parks this holiday season.
Universal Miscellany

Universal
I’ve got a few other Halloween Horror Night updates to share.
As previously mentioned, the late Ozzy Osborne has inspired a House this year.
Ozzy Osborne: Prince of Darkness will “let the madness begin.” No, really:
Universal is billing it as “a living horror movie through the lens of Halloween Horror Nights.”

Image: Universal
So, imagine that with an absolutely incredible soundtrack.
I mean no offense to The Weeknd, but he cannot compete with Ozzy Osborne, at least not yet.

Universal
Prince of Darkness even includes a theme, as it will explore what Ozzy’s childhood was like.
Somehow, this may not be the scariest concept this year, at least not at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Deadline
Some idiot let Art the Clown drive, and here we are. He’s bringing musical accompaniment, too.
The Ice Nine Kills will provide the soundtrack for the Terror Train, which will feature Terrifier’s Art the Clown.

Image: Universal
Everything about this sounds like a bad idea in the best possible way.
Somehow, these aren’t the biggest surprises, though, but I cannot tell you much yet.

All I know is that Nikki from Obsession will appear in some form at Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights.
Obviously, this one wasn’t planned until the very last minute, which means it’ll be a bit nebulous.

Photo: Universal
Universal officials have confirmed her presence, but we know all of this year’s Houses.
Since we know all the Scare Zones, too, speculation has centered on Scareactors.

Image: Cedar Fair
That’s all it is at this time, though. Universal may yet surprise us, as they did with M3GAN.
Nobody would have guessed a group of M3GAN dancers, yet it was a spectacular addition.

Universal
Hopefully, Nikki will feature a similarly brilliant idea. Stay tuned!
