Donkey Kong Country in Universal Studios Japan Delays Opening
Donkey Kong Country is the highly-anticipated new land coming this year to Super Nintendo World Japan. The exciting expansion encourages guests to “Play Wild” and be immersed in the world of this popular video game.
However, fans are going to have to wait a little bit longer. The area was originally scheduled to open this Spring, but today Universal Studios Japan announced that the opening is delayed.

The announcement was made this morning via Universal Studios Japan on Twitter. The company apologized for any inconvenience caused to those who have been waiting and shares that Donkey Kong Country, which was previously scheduled to open in spring 2024, has been changed to late 2024.
USJ will announce the opening date and other details as soon as it is decided.
While it is common for attractions and new areas to be delayed or have openings pushed back, park enthusiasts and Universal fans are surprised at the timing of this decision, as the opening was just around the corner.
The Universal Studios Japan website shows the new area opening in 2024. No further details have been disclosed at this time.
