Universal Studios Hollywood Closed Today Due to California Wildfires
Theme parks are normally open 365 days a year, but some events can cause closures, like extreme weather. We’ve seen the Orlando theme parks shut down for hurricanes several times in recent years.
The West Coast parks can also shut down for weather, which we’re seeing happen right now in Southern California.
Universal Studios Hollywood Closed
Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk are closed today due to the extreme winds and fire conditions. They shared the message on X, saying they will “continue to assess the situation and expect to open for business tomorrow. The safety of our team members and our guests is our top priority.”
They also posted this graphic with the same message:

There are currently three major fires happening in or around Los Angeles — the Palisades fire, the Eaton fire, and the Hurst fire. The Palisades fire is west of Los Angeles and has burned about 4.5 square miles, according to the Associated Press.
The Eaton fire is north of Pasadena and has burned about 1.6 square miles and the Hurst fire is in the San Fernando Valley and has burned about 500 acres.
Over 70,000 people are under evacuation orders as of this morning, with many being in the Pacific Palisades area, as well as parts of Santa Monica and Altadena.
There are also more than 300,000 customers without power in the area.
Universal Studios Hollywood is located in Universal City, California, which is currently located between the Palisades and Eaton fires, south of the Hurst fire. We will keep you updated on the situation.
