NEW: Universal Kids Resort Coming to Texas!

Get ready, Universal fans! We reported about a new theme park and resort for kids back in 2023, and we have finally received an official update!

Just announced: opening 2026 in Frisco, Texas, Universal Kids Resort.

This first-of-a-kind resort is specifically designed and developed for families with young children. Here is what we know!

Universal Kids Resort Coming Soon

Universal Kids Resort is an all-new theme park for kids and inspired by kids!

Through play, discovery, and imagination, the entire family be immersed in a brand new experience.

This first-of-its-kind resort will open in 2026 in Frisco, Texas, and is specifically designed and developed for families with young children. It will bring beloved characters and stories to life in ways that are perfect for the youngest theme park goers (and the young at heart).

Favorite Characters and Worlds

Be prepared to be wowed as you discover lands featuring your favorite Universal and Dreamworks movies.

DreamWorks’ Shrek

Enjoy ogre-sized fun in Shrek’s swamp-themed playground, which was built personally by Shrek.

Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants

Head to Bikini Bottom to see SpongeBob and his friends as they show you around their neighborhood under the sea.

Illumination’s Minions

DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots

Join Puss in Boots in Del Mar as the kitty adoption drive brings colorful decorations, sideshow games, fun rides, and tasty treats.

Park Hub with DreamWorks’ Gabby’s Dollhouse

A central hub with interactive play areas and shady lawns is perfect when you need to rest and recharge. There is also an immersive retail experience where guests can meet characters from Gabby’s Dollhouse.
