How Were Epic Universe’s June Crowds?
More than 13 months ago, Universal Epic Universe finally opened.
To my mind, this will always be the pandemic theme park due to its odd history.

Today Show
Universal announced the park in the before times but then the unthinkable happened.
So, frustrated fans watched the glacial construction pace of Epic Universe.

Universal
It wasn’t Universal’s fault, as there was literally nothing park officials could do.
Oddly, the whole thing ultimately worked to Universal’s favor, as the park gained five years of hype.

Now that Epic has been open for more than a year, fans know the deal.
Universal finally built the kind of theme park we’d always wanted.

Epic
The question is, “Are tourists still swarming the park?” And the answer is mostly yes.
How were Epic Universe’s June crowds? Let’s discuss the details.
The Wait Times at Berk

Universal
When Epic Universe debuted, the timing was particularly optimal for one themed land.
The live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon arrived in theaters soon afterward.

So, fans of Toothless could fall in love with the characters all over again.
Then, they could visit Epic Universe and hug a shockingly realistic version of the dragon.

And they have continued to do that as much as anything at the park.
As proof, here are the wait times at How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk:
- Meet Toothless and Friends – 66 minutes, down 8
- Hiccup’s Wing Gliders – 42 minutes, down 2
- Dragon Racer’s Rally – 40 minutes, up 1
- Fyre Drill – 34 minutes, up 5
The Wait Times at Dark Universe

Universal
This is my monthly banging of the drum for Dark Universe.
I will die on the hill that it’s the best thing Universal Studios has ever done.

Universal
Come at me, Potter and Nintendo fans. I don’t care because I know I’m right.
This is precisely the kind of detailed theming that Universal should be doing.

Universal
Even better, it’s the perfect project for such a loving implementation.
The entirety of Universal Studios as an entertainment company is built on the backs of Classic Monsters.

Universal
Sure, some of those backs are hunched, while others are monstrous in size.
Still, this is the heart of Universal Studios as a brand. It deserves reverence.

Universal
Here are the themed land’s average wait times last month:
- Curse of the Werewolf – 50 minutes, down 5
- Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment – 19 minutes, down 2
Folks, why are you not riding Monsters Unchained on a loop? Do you hate joy?
The Wait Times at the Ministry of Magic

As a reminder, we don’t track the show’s wait times at Ministry of Magic.
That leaves us with just one attraction to evaluate each month.

Universal
Hopefully, that fact will change due to expansion, but Universal hasn’t confirmed anything yet.
For the time being, all we’ve got is Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry.

Universal
Last month, guests waited for an average of 107 minutes, which is nine minutes more than last time.
I reiterate that anything under two hours is pretty good for this ride, though.

Universal
Due to throughput limitations and technical malfunctions, it is what it is.
Thankfully, the ride is so good that it receives few complaints despite the waits.
The Wait Times at Super Nintendo World

Universal
From the initial announcement, the primary draw of Epic Universe was clear.
If the entire park had consisted of Super Nintendo World, guests would have been good with it.

After more than a year, not much has changed due to the clever design.
All the immersive elements have kept this themed land fresh and new.

Universal
Here are Super Nintendo World’s average attraction wait times last month:
- Mine-Cart Madness – 110 minutes, down 4
- Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge – 93 minutes, up 8
- Yoshi’s Adventure – 48 minutes, up 4
The Other Wait Times at Epic Universe

Finally, we have the two rides at Celestial Park. Here are their average wait times:
- Stardust Racers – 23 minutes, no change
- Constellation Carousel – 21 minutes, up 2
Overall, the attractions at Epic Universe averaged a wait of 54 minutes.

Universal
That’s the same duration as last time, which speaks to one simple truth.
I won’t beat the point over your head in the Universal Studios wait times.

Attraction Insight
However, the reality is that the extreme heat waves in Central Florida are having an impact.
In combination with Epic Universe losing its newness, the crowds are diminishing.

Photo: Universal
A year ago, Epic’s attractions averaged a 70-minute wait.
In March 2026, the average was still over an hour. So, this is good and bad news.

OC Register
Universal officials would obviously prefer the crowds to stay larger.
For those of you waiting until the park’s popularity drops a bit, this is your time.

Universal
Due to the small volume of attractions here, Epic’s wait times should hold in this range indefinitely.
So, this is the best you’re going to get for a while, and you should take full advantage.
