PHOTOS: See Inside the NEW Minion Cafe at Universal Orlando!
There are some exciting things happening over at Universal Orlando! We like to keep an eye on changes inside the parks, and lately, we’ve seen things like a new Jurassic Park experience and new food.
One of the main things we’ve been checking out is the progress happening over at Minion Land! The new land is right inside Universal Studios Florida and is an expansion of the area where Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem is located.
There will be a new attraction over here (coming soon!), and we’ve already seen some merchandise locations open up. Today, the new restaurant Minion Cafe opened, and we’re taking you along with us to see everything inside!
Inside Minion Cafe
First, let’s take a short look at the outside of the restaurant. Here’s what Minion Cafe looks like!
It’s kind of hard to miss.
Okay, let’s go inside!
The Kitchen
Starting off in the kitchen part of the restaurant, you’ll find a Minion chef hard at work preparing food.
Well, he’s preparing mostly bananas…
…as well as this spaghetti served inside of a shoe.
Where did this shoe come from, you ask? Oh, just look up!
As you can see, one Minion is stuck in a pipe and is missing a shoe. Mystery solved!
Also, be wary of some inedible objects in here!
This other Minion is also helping out. The other one over here appears to be having some trouble with the machinery.
The area is filled with some yellow dining tables and blue and yellow metal chairs. The classic Minion color palette.
The main centerpiece is pretty impressive!
You can also find various yellow kitchen appliances on the shelves.
Most of them have googly eyes!
There are some spare bananas up here as well.
If you peep inside the freezer, you’ll notice some bags of ice…
…and also a trapped Minion! He’s looking a little cold.
This is also where they keep the desserts for the Minions!
Through the “windows,” you’ll notice the Minions working diligently to prepare your meals.
It seems like they’re up to their usual antics!
The Dining Room
Back behind the kitchen and moving into the dining room, you’ll notice some artwork made by the Minions!
Under each piece of these more abstract works, you can see how the Minions created them. Spoiler: it was mostly using some unconventional tools!
Here’s a look at some more of the decor.
And, the seating!
If you look up, you’ll see some documents floating around…
…as well as the dishes and some food!
And, bananas, of course.
Back into the other dining area, you can find more seating.
There are some full tables and chairs as well as tables with half booths.
The decor back here changes a bit as well!
One section of the room has more of a rock n roll vibe to it.
There’s even a broken guitar up on the wall!
Also, this amazing mural of a Minion rocking out…
…as well as several posters of Minions doing the same.
Here’s another one!
The pipes back here contain — you guessed it — bananas!
The room then abruptly changes theming and moves into some cutesy drawings of the Minions.
There are several framed renditions of Minions relaxing.
Some pictures even get caught between the two styles!
Oh, how innocent and lovely they look here.
Another fun detail on the walls are some framed pet rocks!
They’re portraying some familiar faces.
We’re getting all of the good, happy vibes!
The Break Room
Moving into the break room, let’s take a look around! This room is designed to be a break room for the Minion workers.
There are some lovely posters with helpful info for Minions.
Check out this awesome flow chart!
We’ve also got a look at 33 was to take a Minion break.
The Minions are really trying to cultivate a chill energy in their Breakroom.
The tables and chairs here are mostly yellow and red.
There is more booth seating over here!
One of the tables in here is actually a foosball table!
Posters on the walls include some gentle reminders to the Minions.
They’re probably helpful to humans as well!
Check out the Minion vending machine!
Inside, you’ll see things like Coconutties, Slam Jams, and bananas.
There are also some pet rocks!
Over the trashcans, you will find some more fun details! It’s like you’re really in the office of the Minions.
The lockers of the Minions contain some fun items too.
We saw a teddy bear…
…food…
…computers…
…and more!
Oh yeah, and bananas — duh!
One of my favorite details in here are the motivational posters like you see in a traditional office, except they’ve been Minion-fied.
These are infinitely better than the cliche ones you usually see!
They just make me giggle!
And I’m sure they’re definitely relatable for some people!
The attention to detail is just phenomenal. The wet floor sign is a banana!!
Sometimes the simplest things are the best.
Just maybe order some water from the counter instead of sharing the ones the Minions use!
This one looks like it’s a bit fishy.
The worker bulletin board is also worth a look!
We want to see a DJ Carl show, please!
There are also some important break room rules.
You can see the Minions’ timecards over here as well!
Inside the restaurant are also some Coke Freestyle machines.
And, how can we NOT show you the neon banana sign?!
The restaurant also features an outdoor patio (which you can see below) and an express window outside with a limited menu.
We also got some food on our visit, which you can see our review of right here! Stay tuned for more Minion Land news and updates!
