Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure Re-Opens!
We are so excited to share that Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure has re-opened at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
The Small Fire That Shut Down the Ride
The attraction closed on August 12 due to a backstage fire. According to sources, it was a small fire in the behind-the-scenes equipment cabinet.
The fire was quickly and easily put out with help from the Orlando Fire Department. Fortunately, no guests or employees were injured.
For the past several days, however, signs have been posted informing guests that the attraction is “Not Operating Today”.

Guests are clearly excited for the re-opening of the popular ride. Long lines are present at Islands of Adventure, with the wait queue extending back into The Lost Continent section of the park.

About the Ride
As one of the park’s most popular rides, guests fly deep into the Forbidden Forest aboard an enchanted motorbike. They may choose to ride the motorcycle like Hagrid, or ride the adjacent sidecar like Harry Potter. The thrilling ride boasts several surprises, including Devil’s Snare, a centaur and more!
Most riders do not realize that this is the longest roller coaster in Florida. It is nearly one mile long – 5,053 feet to be exact. It is also the first roller coaster in the U.S. to include a free-fall vertical drop (of almost 17 feet!). Finally, Hagrid’s adventure features 7 total launches – the most of any roller coaster in the world.
Safety Practices Still In Place
Guests will be required to continue practicing social distancing. Not only are guests required to wear masks on the ride, but they will be seated in every other row.
Currently, the ride is offering a standby line only. Universal’s Virtual Queue is currently not available for Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure.
